I am taking a granddaughter to cheer camp today in Albertville, Alabama at Sand Mountain for which the Creek and Cherokee nations had a presence. This area was Pro Union during the Civil War and there were discussions of succession, similar to West Virginia, joining the East Tennessee area which was also Pro Union. The newly formed state was to be called Nickajack.

I probably shouldn't admit this but I LOVED 😍 watching Cheer on Netflix 😂 😜

Today I babysat with my almost three year old granddaughter until mid morning. She loves my porridge and omelettes, so we shared breakfast, and then we played and had a lovely morning!

As if that wasn’t enough, then there was the great afternoon with my old friend. This year marks our fiftieth year of friendship. We’re brothers. And plus, it was guitar day! We both had a few guitars the other hadn’t seen before, so we spent an hour or so checking out the new additions. The crazy thing was an impromptu swap that we both were immensely happy with. Totally unplanned, and we both feel like it was a perfect trade! To celebrate, we went to a nearby (it’s about seven minutes by car on local side streets) brick and mortar guitar shop for a look around, but first we grabbed a slice of some really excellent pizza next door. Came back to the house for a spot of Beatle tea in the yard. It was a swell day all around.

When I consider the absolute evil that exists in how people choose to live and treat others, the natural response is for me to allow it to make for a bad day. That men choose evil does not invalidate good. Rather, I can choose good. I can choose to treat others well, as I would want to be treated, especially the poor, the abused, neglected, children, and all of the people I come in contact with today. I can wave at a neighbor, be patient with the aggravating ones, those that run stop signs, and those would not care if I were dead. People make choices.

As I age, I often question if I have lived a good life. Am I living a good life now? Would I know it if I were not living a good life? Would others say, "he lived well".

Yesterday the trip to cheer camp was a delight. The three girls wanted to find a Starbucks. My concern was to get them to camp on time. I changed my mmd. What was important was being together, enjoying the moment, camp could wait. They ordered their drinks and we were on our way. They got to camp with time to spare.

Well done @Twelvefret. But if I may, those who run stop signs are a menace to everyone’s safety.

I guess today qualifies as a good one but our dog Bonnie will disagree. We were finally able to cajole the vet into taking Bonnie in on an emergency basis. They sedated her and shaved the hair on her tail to get a better look at the spot that was bothering her. They cleaned it it, disinfected the area and sent her home with some AB pills. They cut her nails for us too. She is home now listless and with no appetite while coming out of the sedation.

Tomorrow should be a better day for her. You never like to see a member of the family feeling poorly.
