I saw this great news report one day about the Canadian Governments attempts to control illicit and un-licensed Maple Syrup production and it was so similar to bootlegging in the US backwoods, with a similar amount of surveillance and law enforcement, just bootleg Maple Syrup not Moonshine

Let's put this in context. Canada has a very small population relative to the US or even California. That means that the Maple syrup/Maple sugar producers represent a chunk of our GNP and defrauding them cost us a measurable amount of money.

Just being my usual silly self. The old argument against US gun control was that the only people to have guns, when guns were outlawed, would be criminals.

I understand your defense and argument supporting the maple syrup industry in Canada. Again, someone living in a country is a better critic.
