not taking anything for migraines... quickish story... it's been a odd thing... that's been happening for a year or so now... butt not to this level... if it happens again at this level... a doctor/s visit will be happening...

I suffer from bad migraines; next time you have one, try a little good-quality pinch of sea salt under your tongue, close your eyes and sit in a completely dark room with no sound for 20 minutes. Also, try to look back at what you were eating before the migraine attack; a certain type of food could trigger it.

I was going to suggest food as a trigger, I know little about migraines other than from a friend who tells me that pork in all its forms brings on an attack.

Your friend is 100 per cent correct, especially over-processed pork, such as Spam and tinned meats.

Processed pork products trigger migraines mainly due to nitrates, nitrites, and tyramine added or formed during curing and preservation.

our mom suffers from bad migraines... forget about when... she was sent to a "headache" specialist or whatever he was... she was told to watch eating certain things... chocolate was a trigger... & she got a doctor drug... just not sure if it's a daily or as occurs drug... she would lock herself in her darkened up room with a throw-up bucket... which meant to be quiet & get out of the house soon...

thanks... we'll hopefully remember to try this sea-salt trick if it gets that bad again... this migraine has calmed down a bit... & might be lingering because of a "disability" thing...

My son experienced a "compound migraine" around 2003 at age 22 after one of our whitewater trips. He decided not to run the river again. When we had run the river a second time he was sitting on the bridge that runs over the river. His speech was slurred and he seemed confused. Not having any medication, we got him something with caffeine and Excedrin. Within an hour the symptoms had stopped and he was his old self. Our family physician explained the migraine type and other symptoms. There was no medication prescribed and as far as I know, he has never had the experience again.

I can imagine them being diagnosed as all kinds of things 🙄 Glad he's not had a repeat
