What is your favorite BRUSH Hair or Fibre?

I won't list my entire collection but I too like them all for different reasons. I find boar the best for harder soaps. But I also like how badger and synthetics feel when paired with the appropriate soaps or creams. So, when choosing a brush I first pick my soap or cream and then decided which brush to use.

Oh well, before posting this, I wrote a whole thing about different hair grades and blah blah blah... but then I stopped myself and thought again.

The one brush I’d take with me to a desert island is the Muhle STF.

Well the Perfect Brush is personal choice. Have never owned Pricy brush like Simpson, Wald, or?

Omega are not high in cost, the Plastic Handke do not like being dropped. But replacement brush is cheap.

I have hyper sensitive skin on my neck and found that synthetic brushes work the best for me. Currently using Muhle Silvertip Fibre, which is just great. And on top of that, since it's synthetic, it doesn't require any special treatment.

I have only had 2 brushes. A small to me synthetic Omega, i got it before shaving turned into a hobby to me. It got into an accident and i got a synthetic Yaqi 24mm.

I'm going to make my own brush, hopefully before summer ends. I am going to get a synthetic knot between 26mm-30mm.

I choose synthetic, it's what i've used throughout my shaving life.

I couldn't choose a favorite fiber.
Synthetic tufts have reached a very high quality, they cost relatively little, they don't need maintenance, they dry quickly, they are ready to use and they easily mount any type of soap.
Boar tufts are very cheap, they have a massage and a pronounced backbone and they need the right amount of re-wetting to perform at their best.
Badger tufts are the tradition, they are on average more expensive than the others, they need more care and constant maintenance, they dry more slowly and the animalist impact they produce should not be underestimated.
In any case, at the moment and according to my preferences, they are still the best brushes that can be used.

Badger.
After many brushes I have come to the conclusion that Boti delivers the best knots. Not to dense, not to loose. Captain Finest 3 band and NC chubby being the best from them.
Oumo are to dense.
Simpson was a disappointment for me.

I am 100% in the Badger silvertip camp.
Try as I might I just can't get the same properties I am after from a Boar.
Not for lack of trying either. Started off with Badger years ago and it was quite some time till I tried a Boar. When I did, I could not believe how prickly/scritchy it was. Granted it could have been the knot. It was quickly abandoned.
In an effort to try once more and give it a fair shake I purchased an Omega 48 as it was favored by many, more so than pretty much any other.
I gave it the break in of a lifetime followed by many, many latherings in which it has split very well - many if not all hairs 3-4 times.
It simply (for me) cannot hold either water/lather or heat in near the same capacity as a smaller Badger.
It's not that I need more brushes, I certainly don't. I am of the type that If I don't give something an honest try I may be cheating myself would have no business giving an opinion on such a thing.
