@Margus, this is a good question! I’ll let you know. This is my first horse hair brush in twelve years. The last one I had was by Vie-Long. It was the model with the long handle and the aluminum ferrule, mixed horse and boar. That one was very scratchy, which is why I opted for the Extra Soft version of this Zenith. Hoping it’s worth the price differential.

The extra soft ones are really extra soft - they do get moppy when wet, but they whip up lather just fine.@Margus, this is a good question! I’ll let you know.
