Written by Robert Johnson in 1937. He was a man who had nothing, a street corner musician. The legend is that he made a deal with the Devil that if he could write one song that would live on long after he died then the Devil could have his soul. Johnson wrote Crossroads soon after.

Johnson died in 1938 at age 27.

so a little side-note... our firstish internet name was this song and album by the band CLUTCH in 91... one of if not our favorite album...

I have to try to introduce you all to Cardiacs, as for me they are the best band that ever existed. I saw that @Paper Plane posted some IQ so there are some prog fans on here, and Cardiacs have played with IQ previously at festivals so here is Dirty Boy:
