Soap base “improvements” are a phenomenon of the artisan world. afaik Mike’s Natural is still the original base he introduced over a decade ago. I’m waiting for a tub of Mike’s Vetiver. It’s my first time ordering a Vetiver soap, so fingers crossed! I haven’t bought a new soap scent in a good two years. But re: Barrister and Mann… not counting the Latha line I bought the next two bases Will introduced after he discontinued the White Label base. They were good; they were different from the White Label. But were they better? Maybe. Could be. Frankly, it’s hard for me to quantify such differences. Fortunately I still have two tubs of the White Label Unscented in deep storage! A year or two ago I bought a tub of Bay Rum in whatever his then current base was. It’s also very good. I’ll buy it again when needed. Having tried close to two dozen B&M scented soaps, the ones I like and have kept are Diamond, Oceana and Bay Rum.

Also sold about 40 tubs (I think, some were limited edition) of the old bison (tallow) formula from declaration grooming, long, before, the new milksteak base formula came out.

I really hate the milksteak base formula, I don't why, I just hate it.
