Top quality SR's

I'm a big fan of Ralf Aust (own 2!) 120-1200 next a nice Japanese razor but I'm not best placed to respond due to limited experience. If I had money, I would support my fellow countryman Mr Livi. Have you thought about a Revisor razor? Their site is great as they have some NOS vintage stuff that's wonderful.

The Revisor site has both their own make and some older different makes. The heading of the thread says 'top quality' - I'm not sure exactly what you meant here because any shave ready edge will be much the same as any other. The differences tend to be in the amount of decoration and scales etc., but I'm not sure there will be too many choices in the £100 mark whether Revisor, Dovo or Theirs Issard - you are looking at the lower end of what they offer, particularly with the exchange rate as it is.

I thought that may be the case UKRob. I did tell her good 'uns are expensive. My Vintage Solingen is probably as good as any £100 new one.

The thing is that if you are looking at the basic models of current production straight razors, even vintage makes for that matter, you are not giving up quality. You are only giving up bling for the most part.

As an example in vintage I would say the quality of the blade is the same comparing a DD No. 1 Special, plain vanilla model Double Duck, to the Goldedge model. At least I can't see any quality difference in the shave or honing of the two. Pretty don't shave.

Extreme sharpness is ephemeral!
There are quite a few custom razors out there that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, I'm not going to get into a name and shame it's not worth the hassle I'm pretty bias when it comes to quality straight razors and vintage Japanese is the way to go in my opinion, if you are looking to go German then as Rob said Revisor are a great supplier of vintage straight razors.
