To apply Pre-shave or not

4 are my pre-shaves:

Floid Shaving Oil
Proraso Red Cream
Ach Brito Glyce Lima Soap
Papoutsanis Glycerine Soap

All work for me, but with the oils you must add 4-5 drops and work it well in the beard. You must avoid razor to clogg.

In my 50 years of shaving I’ve tried many pre-shave oils and creams, but found that none do anything to improve my shave. In fact, some can cause your razor to clog if you’re not diligent about rinsing the razor.

Though I have the orange Ach Brito.
I think it is the best amongst these four

I use Geo.F. Trumpers "Sandalwood" Skin Food but only if I use a very aggressive razor, such as a 37 slant or my Kropp straight. I also tend to only use it if I have a weeks growth.

It is true that Ach Brito is the best. Proraso red is close, not for slickness, but for softening the beard.

I've used the Floid Shaving Oil, Village Barber Oil and the Proraso White Cream (I also have an unopened Red one). Not sure they made a significant difference but I've ended up using a simple Glycerine Soap (Papoutsanis) which cleans and helps the face before shaving. Sometimes I also put the Proraso cream after the soap and I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

I’m the same.
Only use Proraso green after the shave now.

My opinion: with a good soap (Stirling, Simpson etc), it doesn’t add anything.

Was a fan of some proraso green before every shave. Just love the tingle and the feel but........ now like a good wash with Wickham face soap. The scents are magical and you just leave it on and apply the creamy stuff afterwards. Nice.

Using proraso white preshave,not sure if it has any impact, but I love cooling sensation.

I'm waiting this Nuage Oil to use it as a preshave.
