Great choice, an excellent partner to the SS OC. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.Just ordered. I will report back with my findings after a few shaves. Special thanks to Nishy and all you guys for helping (enabling)me to buy this razor.
Glad you enjoyed the first shave with the razor. It only gets betterI received my Ti.095 SB on Sunday.. I shaved Sunday, Tuesday and today with it. I had never experienced a titanium razor and when I picked it up
I said to myself,oh no its is LIGHT. I always prefer long, heavy handles on my heads, for example I couldn't use the Blackbird 3 inch handle, I had to swap it out.
Anyhow I shaved with this razor, mindful in the first pass(N-S) to not use any pressure. As I went along I got the feeling that the razor couldn't bite me and gradually increased the pressure. The third pass I went ATG and was done with my face. I couldn't believe how close a shave this light razor gave me. I am bald so I also shave my head, usually using the General SE. I decided to use the timeless for my head and was just amazed how much closer it shaved me than the General. I was so happy with this razor, yesterday I sold off my General, Rockwell 6C AND my Asylum RX. I like to keep my collection to about 5 or 6 razors and I now have 5 in my rotation. The timeless SS .95 OC, Timeless Ti .95 SB a blackbird a R41 and a Charcoal Goods level 2. I think I will add another Charcoal lvl 3 in the future but I am number 483 on the wait list so that should be a year or so. I would like to thank everyone on this thread, especially Nishy for your thoughts on this razor, because I never would have bought and tried this razor without this thread. Thanks everybody and this razor just blew me away with the shaves.
I like to use a little pressure to, the razor has never bitten and always feels assured, as you know. It is just incredibly smooth and well balanced. The matt finish allows for slower strokes which I think improves on efficiency. Remarkably the lather channels allow for a full face shave with just one rinse, awesome razor. IMO the SS suits the OC at 0.95mm but Ti SB same blade gap is better than its SS SB cousin.@Nishy, do you have the scalloped topcap? I also have Timeless Ti SB .95 and although I do like it, I struggle every time with the amount of drag I am experiencing. And so I am thinking of either buying a scalloped topcap, or polish mine (which would be difficult task, I know).Glad you enjoyed the first shave with the razor. Yes I have the scalloped in both Ti and SS. The Ti versions are a matt finish as standard and I do find they exhibit more drag than the SS (polished) option. However, I found I was over compensating with pressure as the Ti is lighter and the feedback (audio) is somewhat muted compared to the SS. Once I had reduced pressure the drag was greatly reduced. Regardless of the above, I haven't tried a non scalloped Ti top cap.@Nishy, do you have the scalloped topcap?
