Timeless Comes Out With A Titanium !

I've had the Timeless Ti now for about 4 months and here are a few of my thoughts on this razor, I like it. All my razors are SS, I like the weight of SS, I like my SS scalloped 95 OC it's in my top 3 in my 9 razor rotation. So why buy a Titanium version if I ilke the SS version and SS in general? Why not?

I have found the Ti to be a drop smoother then the SS but a drop less efficient, but with a Feather in the Ti I can bring up the effeciency. As far as the weight it has taken me a few shaves to get use to it, and I like it. The blades I use are Polsilver, Nacet and Feather. Also I did not purchase the Timless handle, instead experimented with 3 Ti's and settle on a handle from Triad/Toby

Interesting. I've gone through the 0.95OC, then 0.68 scalloped, 0.68OC and now 0.95 scalloped, which is close to perfect for me. I admit, I've been wondering about a Titanium.

I'm using the steel 0.95 scalloped on a Titanium Stork handle. Have you ever tried that @bijou?

Yes I have, I ilke some of the Storks for different reasons, I hav been using a Stork Aristocrat Ti 13x90 on a Streamline Every Ready (I've been using the EV for about 20 years) and love it, for me this handle really enhances the shave, balance and maneuverability. I have used 2 Storks Ti,s on the Timeless Ti 14x90 (I perfer 14mm dia x 90) and they felt great the same as the Triad. I choose the Triad because I liked the esthetics of the design and coloring better, the grip on all 3 were excellent.

Used the Ti Timeless SB/OC 0.95mm again yesterday. This razor definitely is an excellent tool. Superb balance of comfort and incredible efficiency. Even with a thin lather the razor was no trouble at all. Providing feedback whilst maintaining maximum comfort. Winner.

If only they would make a polished version with different handle options.

When I first got it I would have agreed with you 100% intact so much so that I preferred the stainless, perhaps for looks alone, the two were messing withy head.

Fast forward a few months and I love the matt finish, handle and weight of the titanium version. The two still mess with my head in terms of shave quality. What is evident is that the Ti is more comfortable; the blade feel is 'softer' yet still apparent I out it down to weight.

I believe @carbold polished his Ti Matt version but the time taken put me off. I may take it to a jewellers one day, but unlikely as I don't want any tolerances affected.

When I need a comfortable shave I always reach for the Timeless Ti 0.95. It is definitely more gentle than the steel version, and the polished head glides smoothly on the skin. When I polished it I gave the top of the baseplate a very light polish to preserve the blade gap. Also ditched the handle and used a stork hedgehog. I recently used a stork Consul but I think the hedgehog works better

Yeah, I wouldn’t have the cojones to polish it myself regardless of how easy it may be. I loved the .95 OC on the passaround. If the Ti version is better I think I might just have to pull the trigger and learn to love the matte finish.

No need for big cojones really, it’s just a long tedious job....

I have heard more than once that the titanium version is more smooth feeling than the SS. Does anyone know why this might be so? AFAIK, the titanium is the exact blueprint of the SS.

I think it comes down to weight and in my case smoother would better be described as being more comfortable. Let's face it the SS isn't rough at all. The matt finish of the Ti increases drag slightly, however its lighter nature, makes the blade presence more comfortable, especially with regards to the OC plate. Talking minute difference here as the SS is an excellent razor. The biggest and most pleasant difference is with the SB IMO. The Ti SB is my favourite plate. I wouldn't say it is smoother than the SS variety but I much prefer the Ti version. It comes across as feeling a lot less cumbersome. It's pretty hard to explain as you probably can figure from my confused descriptions.
