The US government is breaking up Big Razor before it gets to Big Tech

Actually nice seeing some government reviews and action taken on big business buying small & growing business.
True enough, unfortunately the cynic in me still thinks we expect too little of our governments. Like how to regulate big tech.

Big shave will turn into Little Shavers?

They're fighting shaving monopolies and Facebook buys a platform every year (instagram, whatsapp...).
Exactly. There are certainly bigger fish to fry. Maybe the gov't feels they can win this one. Or maybe they'd just rather have one wire to tap figuratively speaking.

In the US, there are 3 companies that make their own cartridge blades and sold in big box stores (listed by market share)
1. Gillette
2. Schick
3. Harry's

Harry's is the lowest cost option. While there are obviously bigger acquisitions and I may never buy a cartridge again, removing the lowest cost option cannot be good for consumers (unless they all change to DE shaving).

Some interesting news. Didn't realize that they were trying for an acquisition but that's probably because I don't read the news. *shrug*

The amount of DE blades that are under P&G control (aka Gillette) are astronomical as well. Astra, Polsilver, and Sputnik are three Russian brands that come to mind.

Dorco has pretty much given up too. They used to sell carts online. Bic carts are as good as Gillette or Schick in my opinion.

I do believe that the Solima brand will give the big names a run for their money. Amazon has more power to shape the commercial scene here in the US than any other company IMO.

Sorry that the founders couldn't cash in. However, good to have more competition. Not sure that Gillette feels all that threatened ... their prices are still ridiculously high for what their products are.
