Thayers Witch Hazel

Enough said. There is nothing after this worth my attention! I use it for many things from sun burn to dry skin via swelling or inect bite


Not post shave related but rather daily thing

For face moisturizing I use unrefined coconut oil or unrefined shea butter

Thayers is all about the packaging which is nice and looks good in SOTD pictures. It and any witch hazel cannot hold a candle against Aloe Vera IMHO.

Buy in some essential/absolute oils and pop a few drops into a cheapo bottle from the Supermarket. Instant "Thayers"

But Thayers products are not the same thing as distilled witch hazel. It's not just 84/16 in a fancy bottle.

Is aloe vera good for soothing i.e. sunburn? The reason I ask is that I've never tried av but I know that witch hazel is good for a whole load of ailments. Also, Thayer stays true to the traditional distillation process which may explain the premium compared to other makes of WH. In any event, the cost per use is so minimal as to make comparisons a trivial matter.

Giving the OP its due, it ought to be pointed out that Thayers's unscented, alcohol-free toner's ingredients are:

Purified Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Glycerine, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Citric Acid, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract

If I were purely in this game for natural skincare, the above followed by unrefined shea butter would be a strong combination. I also remember that's it's one that @celestino swears by.

I'm sure you will not regret it. I only use the tip of a finger full after every shave. Hope you agree it is s good as I think it is.
