No - it a ring of metal with holes in it. No need for a fine mesh with tea. If you're concerned about sediment, you can wash the tea first - this is recommended with fine tea.

You sir are a genius! I didn't know you could wash the tea! I'm partial to camomile and always get loads of sediment but this time I gave it a rinse first and there's hardly any. I am indebted.

Working from home today, so a slower start with a spot of breakfast, Rose tea, very nice. Used a reusable single cup tea ‘bag’.

Our favourite morning tea is Taylor of Harrowgate Yorkshire Gold, both loose and bagged. Unfortunately, for the past week it‘s been out of stock at our grocers’, so we’ve had to resort to Twinings English and Irish Breakfast teas. Yesterday, however, a fresh supply arrived so we enjoyed a large cup of it at breakfast this morning. What a relief: the Twinings teas can’t hold a candle to Yorkshire Gold.

Need to say, this is excellent quality tea ! Nice big leaves, none of that dust you get in some. Many thanks for the tip, I will be buying more.

I had an indian guy make me a milky tea.
Milk and everything went into a saucepan. It was delicious.
No idea what it was.

Chai ("Chai" or "Masala Chai", never "Chai Tea") wants to be milky ... and sweet. Use some jaggery/goor ... at a push palm sugar or demerera if you must. Yeah, boil it all up in a pan or a stovetop kettle. Pour it with some height to get air into it and give it some life.
