Tea ... who likes it?

I am going with a jug and a plastic seive.

But I have now committed to a bamboo tea strainer which will arrive in a few months

I am trying a few 'normal' teas that have been mentioned here (including the GABA for morning use only)
Matcha and Bukhial as well. Pretty curious.
Plus some stuff like ginseng, rooibosch, echinacea, rosehip, nettle, lemongrass ....
I am hoping i like the ones that I can grow in the garden.
But I thought i would try some that have been made as tea first.

I also tried some ground ginger, turmeric and nutmeg with a dash of acv.
Then the next day, the same simmered in milk for ten minutes (without the acv).
I've tried Matcha, hmm, not too sure a little too powdery. The proper Japanese stuff is supposedly the best.

I reckoned I would just try a few to give me something to compare to.
Atm all i know is regular tea bags and earl grey.

What’s “American” coffee?
Oops... My wife and I have visited Europe twice; Spain, then UK. Every time I asked for coffee, I was asked if I wanted American coffee or something else. Even paper and chalkboard menus listed/made a distinction between “American” coffee and other varieties. So I figured that as this is a UK hosted forum, and most of the members hail from UK, I’d refer to it as such. To me it’s just coffee.:hotdrink:

If you like green tea with mint I can recommend Moroccan Mint from John Watt in Carlisle. You can buy from them online too. I use a single mug infuser very much like the first one @slapo posted.

Only went to the States once, in 2001. Still remember and miss Denny’s
We normally visit once or twice a year (as funds allow), and depending on which state we are in, it's normally Denny's for breakfast the first morning. It's not the best coffee in the world, but just the thought of it takes me to my happy place!!

I have spent some time in Portugal, I noticed that the scruffiest and tiniest cafe always sold the best coffee, by which I mean that all the cafes sold excellent coffee, the same could not be said for small cafes in England, although we have improved considerably over the past few years.

As far as I know, an Americano is not a change in the bean just the way it is made which is a double espresso topped up with hot water. Am I correct in thinking that many cafes/diners in America do filter coffee?

Must admit that a comparison between tea and coffee is very difficult other than they are both hot drinks, tea is calming and relaxing, coffee livens you up.

Yes, that is my impression too. Was told to order a Caffe Americano if I wanted a large cup of coffee in France. It is also called a Long Black in Oz.

I believe that Caffe Americano came about during WW2. The American GI's stationed in Europe added hot water to Espresso style coffee to make it go futher.
I could be wrong but that's what I remember reading.
