i have a BB on loan these weeks. First shave was very good. No complaints ( I just think the handle is too heavy for me). Very smooth. Not so much blade feel. Rather very efficient. Looking forward to the sale period ;-)

  • Brush: Highlander DS1 Butterscotch Manchurian 26mm
  • Razor: Giesen & Forsthoff 1354
  • Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum 1st
  • Aftershave: Geo F Trumper - Sandalwood Skin Food
Today the debut of my Highlander brush.
In one word: Outstanding!
The 26mm Manchurian knot is truly amazing and the handle has a perfect size, with an awesome weight to it.
It was an absolute pleasure shaving with this baby.

Then the almond soap from Geo F Trumper. What a disappointment again.
How can a company that's been around for hundreds of years, make such a terrible soap?!
The only good thing about it is its scent. Although it has nothing to do with almonds...
I think it's about time someone told them the truth about their soaps.

My Shave today consisted of...
Brush Blackland Signature synthetic.
Soap Stirling Black Ice.
Razor Rockwell 6s no4.
Blade Nacet (2).
Aftershave St johns Bay Rum cooooorrr

Tonight's shave was with plate 4 to see if my shave had changed now that I have used the razor more and felt that the first shave was an unfair assessment.

I whipped up a good no sign of menthol lather with the Blackland Signature brush, it does not take long
I found the plate number 4 definitely has more blade feel on the face and the shave was 100% better than my first use.
I got a lovely 2 pass shave and headshave error free but feel I am probably going to use plate 3 the most as it's a delightful worry free shave.

I'm currently without a razor strop, so had to step back to shavettes, no less joy though

Splash: Vintage ex-Yugoslavian Pitralon, which always reminds me of my late stepfather.
