I've been experimenting with the setting on the Gillette 109 using a Yellow Feather blade.

I typically do 7,5,3 like my other Gillette adjustable razors. I will push it to 8 next time for fun. I have to say I love the 109 and it was very reasonable in price. It shaves perfectly.

A very smooth and enjoyable Slim Sunday shave today.
As the rotation gods would have it, this Razor, Soap and Brush combination happens to be what I started with when I graduated from the Wilkinson sword classic set.
Stirlings Christmas eve was my first introduction to artisan shaving soap after being dissatisfied with the Wilkinson blue, the Yaqi brush was my first good brush after an awful experience with the terrible Wilkinson boar brush and the Slim was my first vintage razor which blew my mind in contrast with the Wilkinson classic, and started a vintage Gillette collecting obsession.
And they all performed just as well as just as enjoyably as the first time.
3 smooth, efficient passes with that amazing warm, comforting aroma in the air.
Finished off with the matching balm for more Christmas eve goodness and a very well soothed and silky smooth finish.

Thank you for telling me about your experiences. Today I used 9 WTG on the first pass and 5 ATG on the second.
This is my one and only adjustable. I would like to find one of the Schick adjustable injector razors at some point.

Sunday May Tenth's Shave Of The Day was good...
kinda odd today... i seem to have to do every thing "quick"... no troubles with the 1 buffing shave... i am smoothish and sniffing good...

Blade – Feather Professional Soft Guard
Shaving brush – Yaqi Surf
Aftershave – Jaguar For Man
Today I tried soap from Wickham Soap Co. for the first time - 1912 Irish Fern
My impressions:
The soap is gentle, doesn't use much water, and produces a rich, bouncy lather instantly. It's very pleasant to the touch. I use minimal amounts (use a bowl). The glide and post-glide action are excellent. There were no irritations or discomfort on my skin. There was no tightness, itching, or burning. Regarding the scent, it's deep, multi-layered, not overpowering, and dense. I even thought for a moment that it was soap, but it didn't smell like soap.
I really enjoyed using it.
