After seeing the above image, does anyone recall Shulton's Oriental Spice. I do remember it from my youth, but didn't recall the scent. In fact I did get AI to recreate an image.

Sometimes you need a retro shave to remind you why.

Wilkinson TTO razor
Treet silver carbon steel blade
Noxema sensative skin shaving cream
Mennen Skin Bracer original aftershave

Warm shower prep with Dial soap

This more or less was my set up through most of my military service. I did three passes and still not bbs. Without the brush lifting and surrounding each whisker with lather it just isn't as close a shave. Hopefully tomorrow will be a calmer day.

How does the "Black Beauty" compare to the "Fat Boy"?
it gets a +1 because it was made a little after we were made... hahaha... overall like the slightly longer handle better... the black beauty is slightly more aggressive with the shallower head... butt being adjustables... we can adjust them to be friendlier or angrier... side-note: if it had a red handle it would be a +10... hahaha...

Two quick passes (8.5/10) before lunch with my wife’s Aunt and Uncle (they’re mine, too ) and cousins of theirs. Then home to all my grandbabies for late afternoon fun and dinner filled with happy chatter and good vibes. This evening I had a good talk with one of my cousins. The shave was good, the day that followed was special!

Thursday 13th August...

This morning's shave was my first with a Turkish style shavette. This was a far more aggressive shavette with much more blade on show. Inserting the blade was a little tricky but I got there in the end. You do have to be careful especially as they are quite stiff at first.

The shave itself was close and clean. Cleared the lower lip and nostrils area well with the chin being perfectly acceptable too. Very pleased. I had intended to use another razor to finish off but it wasn't needed.

The Semogue worked well with the softer Signature Soap and performed well with the lather so he stays on the team sheet for now.

Thanks must go out to @JD55 for his kind advice and support on getting the shavette up and running. V grateful 🙂 :notworthy:

Enjoy your day...
