Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Thäter 3-band Silvertip Badger
Soap: NOS Klar Kabinett
Razor: Pils 101NE
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Bleue Extra (2)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, Pitralon Classic Aftershave Lotion
Scent: Knize Forest EdT

I found the sharpness of the GBE a tad agressive in the Blackbird, so changed razors to the Pils. Very comfortable shave - always takes a little time with this razor to re-adjust technique, due to steep cutting angle.

My brush handles have a neat tooled finish straight of the knife so are already smooth and shiny with their tiny facets. After that I put on at least 3 coats of Liberon Finishing Oil which is an excellent product. As recommended to me by @UKRob of this parish. Every year or so they benefit from a recoat but as it’s an oil this is easily done as the original finish doesn’t chip or flake like varnish. It gently fades and needs no other nasty treatment other than simple recoating. Nowt wrong with giving you work a good sanding with wet and dry going down minimum 1200 grit then using the finishing oil. I also put a couple clear coats of Briwax on top of the Liberon to give extra initial protection. I’d love to see your work! 👍
Thanks for such excellent information! What about the hole the knot sits in ... how do you seal that? I will maybe start a thread showing the stages of the making.

Williams Wednesday- 3rd November

RR 400. SE Plissoft noir
Williams Mug soap
RR Hawk V3- OC Plate
Kai Captain Titan Protouch MG ( 5 )
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

I found this Razor more balanced now that I have refitted it with a RR handle. I was rather surprised to find this Razor/Blade combo not as comfortable a Shave as the one with the Hawk A plate fitted with a Kai Pink blade. In fact the overall quality of finish did not seem as good either.

Razor - Parker InjRzr

1st use of the Parker InjRzr and for the shave i just left the blade in that came in the razor - Parker? Personna?
Another very easy lather from the Wickham soap, today the Classic 24, the brush holding plenty for the shave from very little loading.
I set the Razor to #4 and started the shave, yes, as others have said it is a mild razor. I completed the WTG & XTG on #4 the pushed to #5 for the ATG pass, the razor has done its job and the DFS+ finish is very comfortable.
I am not disappointed with this one at all, it looks good and feels very similar to a vintage injector in the hand. I am sure i will be able to get better shaves from it once it has been given a few run-outs.
A nice finish with the Barts Balm Amber and Moroccan Jasmine Balm & Lotion then a splash of Vintage 4711 which has more alcohol and to my nose, is a bit more bitter orange scent than the new version
Stay safe and enjoy your day All
