A crackin' shave with a classic razor.
I love the engineering and idea of the repeater. I would not like to guess how much one of these would cost if designed and made today, to be fair, i would probably buy it regardless. My favourite Injector razor by far including new and vintage.
3 passes for a very easy BBS finish. Another bowlful of vintage lather mixed up with the Vulfix, i am not sure what bristle it is, it feels like a very soft boar or a Mid backboned badger.
I did enjoy that.

Rocnel sailor hybrid 2023

Captains choice obsidian copper shaving bowl
1st shave with the rocnel sailor hybrid.
The handle is made of titanium. The head , 316L stainless. Total weight 100 grams.
1st thought to me was that all previous sailors were head heavy. The 2020 version having the largest head. Would the handle bring titanium make the razor more head heavy?
Balance in the hand feels great. You can tell this sailor is lighter. Head doesn't feel top heavy.
Loading of the blade is the same as the 2022L. The metal pin being replaced by a black anchor insignia. This like the 2022L can be dismantled for cleaning. The side insignia on the baseplate "adjustable" is not on this version. The topcap is curved like the 2022L and not flat on the top like previous versions. Its nice to have a better box than what the 2022L arrived in which was the same box used on the 2019.
Had to bring out zingari man No 1 for this one. Scent is banging. Nice lather.
The chisel and hound brush has had a few uses now and is breaking in well.
Always an exciting mail call for me when getting a new Rocnel. Most of you know I'm crazy about rocnel razors. Now have all sailors 2018 to present (excluding master series) and 3 elites.
So I loaded a fresh Schick blade. Dial to 3. 1st pass. This feels lovely. Kind of what I expect from a sailor. Balance is really nice. A light touch is always required with a sailor and it's definitely a razor you can let the weight of do a lot of the work. Again like other sailors, getting under the nose was not a problem. Very smooth. Easy to find cutting angle. Down to 1 and dot settings for difficult areas ATG. BBS finish. 1 weeper.
Am I pleased with my purchase? Absolutely. Do I need all these sailors ? Probably not. Do I enjoy them as shaving tools and a collection? Definitely.
