What was going to be a simple Bismarck shave on a Sunday, somehow turned in to me digging an Old Sheffie out of the junkyard and seeing if I could correct the abused blade and get it up and going. It's criminal to throw away an old Sheffie in bone if you can salvage it.

I've been trying to use up the Noxema before the can fails. The bottom is rusting. First pass was the Goodline razor/blade combo. That kept threatening to blood me so I used the Van der Hagen combo for the second pass. It wasn't a perfect shave but it will get me through tomorrow and a little more me time at the end.

The Sheffie shaved ok..I'll correct what is left I think by adding a little smile back in the blade.
If it were a bigger blade, it would have been bread knifed to begin with and rebuilt from there. The thinned out spine resulted in my using two layers of tape.
It should be ok after a little more lovin.

SOTD for me: Merkur 34C on a fresh blade, Proraso green soap, boar brush broken in nicely, and a cold-water finish with an alcohol-free balm. Two passes with the grain, zero irritation. Nothing fancy, just a clean classic setup that never lets me down.
