Today's shave:

- Palmolive
- Balea Boar
- Edwin Jagger DE86 with ASP blade
- Balea Fresh aftershave

😀

This week it's been ten years since I've started using a safety razor. To mark the occasion, I've returned to my "beginner's setup", which, as it turns out, still does the job just fine. 😄 However, the only item of those I've used in recent years is the razor. Also the glass bowl (which contained meat jelly when I bought it) is still the best lather bowl I own.

This week I have tried a new soap, years ago when I started traditional shaving, this was one of the classic triple-pressed soaps, but I didn't get it and it was discontinued

This year a friend gave it to me and I hadn't tried it yet

Hard soap, triple-pressed, rounded bar like Musgo Real's that looks like it will last three lifetimes

Easy to load after 5' of soaking and it works well on the face, you get a Tabac-type lather without any difficulty.

Lather that sticks well to the face, softens the beard very well, slides and protects correctly. It leaves a greasy layer that allows for touch-ups

Post-shave more than correct, leaving the skin clean and cared for without a greasy feeling.

I read that the scent was the worst thing about this soap, but I personally like it (since it doesn't add anything, it doesn't get in the way either), a non-invasive "cosmetic" aroma, typical of any face cream, it doesn't overwhelm, it doesn't bother or interfere with the after shave

No itching, no redness, nothing like a good industrial soap, with all its load of dermatologically tested chemicals

A very, very correct soap, similar to what a Tabac, a MWF can be... that perfectly complements any collection

Enjoy your weekend

(Face & Head Shave)

A new shave set up to start the weekend...It's been a while since I last added the Gem Micromatic (OC) to my razor rotation. The Micromatic SE (OC) fitted with the GEM PTFE blade is my most assertive vintage duo I have. As with any razor shaving confidence, a light touch, & good technique are the key to a comfortable close shave especially the Gem Micromatic (OC).

Another close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Hugo Boss Dark Blue EdT pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.😉

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen. 😎

Van der Hagen TTO razor
Van der Hagen stainless steel blade
Van der Hagen deluxe badger brush
TOBS sandalwood shaving cream
English Leather Aftershave

Hot shower prep with Tommy Bahama 3 in 1 wash

I indulged myself with too much TOBS. It's winding down and I was generous with it. The Van der Hagen blade was about at its end. It was still comfortable but not as close as I would like. It still was an acceptable shave and the English Leather is a good way to start a morning.
