Got these River Lakes early on for honing experience..the Black one just clicked for me and the stainless was a stubborn piece of something one may find in the grass at a dog park...
Anyway, after being cast aside for some time, I went back through the stainless one today and finished on a Pierre La Lune VS the black one, which has a Black Ark edge with a few shaves on it.
The stainless one was a little keener and smoother, but it has a fresh edge..so I'm considering it a successful endeavor.

I’m sorry guys but I gave into temptation, I had too many new toys to try! The new Highlander brush is wonderful I know the Tux knot well enough as I have one already and the weight and feel of the wood handle is great. I think I may need another wood resin hybrid! The Shield was another pleasant surprise, the handle is very short, and it weighs next to nothing when picking it up, but shaves very nicely. It certainly makes me miss the Vector less, it’s close but smooth, nimble and agile, what’s not to like? It’s not as aggressive as the Vector but a little more so than most of my other single edge razors. The shave felt like a smooth and easy affair until over confidence got the better of me and I nicked a small bump/spot on my chin! It’s not an exaggeration to say it’s in my top 5 nicks I’ve had since taking up the hobby! Totally self inflicted and a reminder that I need to take greater care especially with a new razor regardless of how simple it feels to use on a first use!
The A&E Asian Plum is another delightful fruity scent which adds to my soap ever growing soap collection. I love the A&E base and this fruity scent is a winner for me.
Overall a wonderful shave!

The Dendi was used for the first time and a kind gift from @gile. The performance and lathering was absolutely top notch and having scooped my usual amount quickly found I’d used too much, it lathers extremely quickly, and produces a thick, protective and nourishing lather! I was really pleasantly surprised and is definitely going on my list of to buy and try!
The Shield just gets better with every use. A little more care and respect on my part and it was a delightfully smooth shave with excellent results. Efficient and smooth a excellent combination!
