Saturday 25th July...

Back in Yorkshire on hols so gave this an appropriate background. The Fatip had two and a half days growth to sort as I shift my shave to the evening for ease. With a Nacet #1, it certainly didn't find it difficult. The Trumpers Lime is a lovely cream to use too.

Went with a balm tonight as my first changeover shave from soft water to hard water is always odd on my skin and very harsh. Even synthetic brushes play up let alone the boars. In hindsight, the Fatip wasn't the best to use in these circumstances but it's a cracking razor.

Bald as a coot. Enjoy your evening.

Microtouch TTO razor
Astra superior platinum blade
Leponix synthetic brush
Van der Hagen deluxe shaving soap
Up & Up witch hazel
Clubman aftershave
Just like Drakkar cologne

Warm shower prep with Dial antibacterial soap

The Synthetic brush requires no soaking. Just run it under the tap and flick off the excess. The Van der Hagen gathers easily in the brush and is a good face lather. I did three passes before I was comfortable with the results. The witch hazel calmed things down and Clubman lent that barbershop finish. Just like Drakker added floral and brandy notes.

While not the best shave cream out of the tube, a couple of drops of glycerine transforms it no end - and it smells good too!

Second shave on the bounce with this Ikon 101, and it performs well, but re-growth is a little faster than with more efficient razors.
Oddly, the SB side is slightly more assertive than the OC side ( @Digimonkey also observed this some years ago.)
I haven't seen this particular razor feature in other's SOTD posts for quite some time.

Full on Eau Sauvage shave, finished with matching aftershave and Extreme EdT.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.

The soap definitely lathers better than the original Le Pere Lucien. Good slickness and the residual although it's not oil on glass, gives this buttery feeling without being greasy.

It is not cheap, and in this 100gr puck it's not easy to load properly, especially because the soap gets harder after use.

If you go to the 200gr, the price is increased and comes close with Crème Fraîche from Wholly Kaw which is a way better soap in all aspects, so I wouldn't buy again.

Feather in the second shave left hairs behind, unbelievable. I got them in the end and got BBS, but this is not the point. Most hyped blade of all times and expensive (for me). Sharp, but not THAT sharp to pay that much.

Shave Soap- Wickham 1912 Club Cola
Razor- Weck Hair Shaper
Blade – Personna Hair Shaper
Shaving brush – Ethnic Omega ( 10081 + handmade handle)
Aftershave – Areffa Soap Unscented + Acqua Di Parma Colonia

I tried changing the guard Hair Shaper, so it would look more like Weck 'Bantam/Orderly/Sextoblade guard. I didn't like it, it was distracting and confusing. It looks more logical without it.
