Tuesday 28th April...

Had another shave planned for today but woke up tired and decided to postpone it until later in the week as I wanted to savour it.

The Rockwell 2C on plate 3 was paired with a Gillette Silver Blue #1. This is, as I have just found out, is a superb pairing for me. Cyril Salter and a Semogue 2000 made up the rest of the line up in what turned out to be an extremely close finish. Fabulous shave.

Enjoy your day...

Aleppo soap - Shave pre wash
Jayaruh Syn No67
Vitos Super Red
PAL Injectomatic de Luxe
Schick S/S single- Japan ( 4 )
Floid Vigoroso A/S Lotion

Before today’s Shave topped up the Shave Bowl as getting near the bottom- still have a lot left. Got a nice creamy lather which made for a pleasant Shave.I do like using a Japanese Schick in this Razor.

That is a tough question. The first tub I bought to add to my Menthol Mondays is what I expected a Bay Rum to smell like. To my nose, the aroma is similar to Stirling or Al's Shaving BR but has the added benefit of menthol which in this tub I would rate 8/10 in the chill factor. I like it so much I ordered a 2nd tub along with a bottle of aftershave and deeply disappointed. As soon as I opened the shipping box, I noticed the scent profile was different and upon opening the tub, it was twice as dark in color and did not smell like BR at all. I went ahead and lathered up to see if the scent profile would change but I was disappointed as the scent did not change and the chill factor was not as potent, about six instead of the 8 with my first jar. The aftershave was no different in aroma but the chill factor was pretty good. I tried the 2nd tub a second time to see if I would get used the aroma but ended up throwing the 2nd jar and aftershave in the trash. I spoke with another gent who purchased his MSC frosted BR after I did and he noted the same scent profile as my 2nd jar but he decided to keep his frosted bay rum.

I have 26 Bay Rums in my den so I think I have a pretty good idea what a Bay Rum should smell like.
Perhaps I might give it a pass then, I loved the Frosted Spearmint and thought it was a lot colder than Cryogen.
