Saturday 2nd May (My Birthday :) )...

Have been looking forward to today's shave for quite a while. Last shave was the first outing of Martin de Candre and today sees the first use of vintage soap and aftershave in Old Spice and Imperial Leather.

The scent on the soap gives off quite a cinnamon or mixed spice aroma and it lathers up like I'd expect a soap of yesteryear to - lovely and thick. Mmm.

The Imperial Leather splash has a beautiful scent to it. Really classy and deep. While both these items are equally amazing, it's the splash which has really captivated me today.

A gigantic, blue whale-sized thank you must go out to @pjgh for these lovely birthday treats. Paul, you are a scholar and a gentleman.

Enjoy your day all...

The T&D cream felt slick, but not very thick - it isn't a very protective or cushioning cream. The Suneko took advantage and gave me a nick under my chin. Still, a satisfying shave, with Zen to spare!

Col. Ichabod Conk 5/8" straight razor
Microtouch TTO razor
Astra superior platinum blade
Leponix synthetic brush
William Garvey shaving soap
Aqua Velva aftershave
Bod Man blue surf cologne

Hot shower prep with Old Spice Swagger body wash

I whipped up a lather with the Garvey soap. It's close to williams in texture and slickness. I did the first pass with the straight but ny skin was feeling battered so I switched to the DE for clean up. I'm on blood thinners and that razor likes to dig in when it gets dull. It's not BBS but it still feels smoother than a DE shave. My crack brained theory is that the beard gets cut at a different angle and the stuble feels less sharp. Blue Surf added to the Aqua Velva vibe.
