The R41GS certainly looks the part and i am starting to "like" it even the oversized handle. Saying that i still need to be on my game when using it. A fantastic protective lather today and 2 passes have given my a DFS+, nigh-on BBS, i still need to get my technique down with it.
1st pass WTG followed by a XTG on cheeks from ear to nose then ATG on neck to jawline.
No indication from the alum stone and very little from the splash.
Happy with that,
Stay safe and enjoy your day all

Razor: Tatara Masamune Nodachi Ti
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Brush: Chisel & Hound Fanchurian v18
Soap: PAA Diver Down
Splash: PAA Diver Down

Another run out for the Masamune Nodachi combination - it really is a great razor. Smooth and the right balance of efficiency and mid-aggression for me.

Suspect I might be on the lookout for one to keep now! I don’t think it gets much better so I think it’s time to move the passaround along. Really appreciate the chance to try all the combinations! Thanks again!

Mitchel's Wool Fat (hiding in a Truefitt & Hill tub)
Merkur 33c razor
Astra superior platinum blade
Van der Hagen boar brush and mug
Imperial Bay Rum aftershave

Never throw away a good container. The puck of Mitchel's Wool Fat fits in it perfectly.

I really worked in the lather and let it soak into the beard before hacking away. It was a lot better experience. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm retired and have the time to pamper myself a bit. Second pass lather was as rich and slick as the first and the scent is pure old school barbershop.

I finished up with a bay rum aftershave that is exactly what it claims to be cane alcohol and laurel oil.
