Sunday afternoon shave:
Pre.: Hot water rinse, coconut oil, Proraso green pre-shave cream
Brush: Plisson synthetic fibre pearl grey
Soap: Saponificio Varesino - Settantesimo Anniversario
Razor: Karve Shaving Christopher Bradley razor with F plate on a 3.5" handle
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel (3rd use)
Post.: Hot water rinse, cold water rinse, 444 gel, Cremo Cooling post shave balm, Myrsol "Agua de Limon" AS, Tom Ford "Neroli Portofino" EdP
First shave with the Karve razor (postman brought it yesterday afternoon)... I started the shave with the E plate, but I knew immediately this wasn't to my liking (not bad, just not enough "bite"). So I changed to the F plate, yes, better this way. The shave reminded me of the Timeless SB .95 or the Merkur Futur (lower setting), most probably due to the wide blade gap and the weight of the razor. But there are differences: The razor is more efficient with the F plate than the Timeless .95, but less than the Mühle R41 (2013). It also feels to me more comfortable and smooth than the Timeless.
To reach a bbs result like with my other (aggressive or more efficient) razors I needed 3 passes plus touch ups. The shave itself was quite comfortable and easy, no weepers, no irritations, very smooth, no need for alum, surely a winner. Maybe I would like to have a "G" plate

.
The razor looks very good, high level of quality, less than my Wolfmans, but this isn't a surprise. Regarding the price the razor, the build quality is absolutely ok, nothing to complain about. It feels nicely in the hand, good weight to it, good balanced too, with a good grip. So, you get high quality for a very good price, combined with a good performance. I wouldn't call the F plate aggressive, maybe in the higher upper third of the medium aggression range (if I regard the R41 (2013) as my baseline for an aggressive razor), but with good efficiency.
I need some more shaves with the Karve F, but for now, I'm very satisfied with this purchase
Wishing all an easy and smooth Sunday!
