I used a 13mm masonry drill to make a pilot hole in the top (by hand - no drill needed!) and carved it bigger with a flat blade screwdriver I had lying around, measuring it to make sure I didn't make it too big. I glued the knot with hot melt. I may make a base from builder's bog, as the pumice could end up scratching the acrylic bathroom surface. I doubt I will seal it, and will probably use it until it breaks and make another handleb. It was really a bit of an experiment - a what if thought - that turned into an enjoyable bit of crafting.
This is the thought that drives all great discoveries and products—this thought is the engine of progress! Your experiment was clearly a success and looks gorgeous! I agree that protecting your bathtub from scratches is important. With this brush, even a thin cork base (there are such pads for cabinet and table legs) will look great and natural.

Cheers for your kind words, mate! Cork is an awesome idea - may even have a piece lying around somewhere.

Monday May Eighteenth's Shave Of The Day was good...

View attachment 176688

PreShave: Stirling's Bonaparte PSO
Lather Gear: Yaqi 24mm Synth Mountain Lake whipped up VITOS Red in Captain's Choice Copper Aquamarine
Razors&Blades: Rolls Razor De-Luxe(?) & Blade 1 buffing WTG... Shavette loaded with Shark Saloon 1 buffing WTG cheeks & neck... 1974 Gillette Super Adjustable loaded with Wilkinson Sword 1 buffing WTG(5) around the maw...
AfterShave Gear: Omega Alum Stick then Stirling Sport PSB

so we learned the Rolls Razor is a evolution of a straight razor... and after several honing passes in it's case and a clean up we decided to try it... the problems with my hands were exaggerated from the small stick/handle... only area the hand/s couldn't try was under the snot rocket... got a little irritation on the beard area and a small red spot on a cheek... a fun experience... and not sure when the Rolls Razor will get another go... got a little feedback from Omega and Stirling moistened us up and has us sniffing good...

Have a Good Start to your week and SOTDs ATGSers...
Oh I see some friends came for shaving too
