I really am enjoying the Simpson "best Badger" brushes i have, the Duke 3 among them, a major part of my prep is face lathering after a double face wash, building up the lather this way i feel, really helps with the stubble prep plus you get the scent hit of the soap as it open straight away.
The AS-D1 is a great razor to use, i find a tiny bit more efficient than the D2 i have although it is minimal. Once you have these razors dialed in they will give you a very, very safe, very efficient BBS finish.
I do like the shave with a KAI DE blade as it does open the shave angle a touch being a smidgen wider than most if not all other blades, however, they will work with any blade really and today it was ultra smooth with the Med Prep.
Enjoy your day all.

Milord Monday

Pre shave: Hot shower and Neutrogena glycerin soap bar
Razor: 1946 Gillette Milord
Blade: Feather (1st)
Brush: Captain Fawcett Synthetic V
Bowl: Arran Stone
Soap: Stirling Barbershop
Post shave: Stirling Barbershop aftershave balm

I have to admit, I was a little nervous to use this razor given it's condition and the Milords notoriously thin gold plating, so the kid gloves were on the entire time, but what a shave.

Even with a fresh Feather blade, It's every bit as mild feeling as the Super Speed that followed it but incredibly efficient.
It had no trouble handling two days of growth and by the end of the 2nd pass, there was so little left that the 3rd pass ATG felt more like a touch up pass.

It's not a razor I'll use often, but after this I'll certainly look forward to it on the special occasions that I do use it.

I decided to break the rotation yet again and pair this classic razor with a classic barbershop scent.
Finished off with the matching aftershave balm for a very enjoyable experience all round.

Here's to great shaves and a great week ahead, everyone!
