Saturday, September Twelfth's Shave Of The Day was good...

3119.jpg

we added Stirling Pre-Shave Oil & are using a chunk of VITOS red... did 1.5 buffings... WTG(5)... had extra lather so the neck & under-chin trouble spots got a clean-up buffing AXTG(5)... not sure what happened... there was no left-over slickness for doing our buffings... so we changed the buffing a little... we're smoof & sniffing good...

Have a Good Weekend & Good SOTDs ATGSers...

Pedro Fiasco's Amaretto di Saronno
APShave Silksmoke 28mm
Yaqi Telstar
Shark Super Stainless
Clean & Clear Sensitive Lotion
Proraso Red Balm Coarse Beard

This is a soft but heavy cream, it's not easy to get the right amount to make a proper lather. A dollop was definitely not enough last time so I put the brush inside the bowl and made a mess. It was a heavy loading.

The cream obviously was thirsty at the beginning and the lather was excellent.

The damn razor makes R41 (2013) seem like a plastic kid's toy. Very blade forward with positive exposure with a blade gap of 1.15mm has nothing to do with RazoRock Lupo (many believe it's a clone - it is not). Takes no prisoners.

Needs very very light hand, shallowest possible angle especially on the ATG pass, or else digs instantly into the skin. Wouldn't recommend for a newbie.

I had an almost BBS result though, with no heat, irritation or bleeding. 2.5 passes, 7 days of growth were vanished. Shark is also a very good blade, sharp enough (in the Telstar even more) and did never pull the hair.

If it wasn't the soap/cream, the razor would have torn my skin apart. Protective & ice slick. While it's not even close to K2e or Ultima, has excellent performance although loses its stability a bit during the final passes, nothing major though.

Scent is not boozy at all and it's pleasant without burning the skin (thankfully). Remember that Peter uses more fragrance oil concentrations that threaten my skin sometimes (Tobacco Road Splash, Chasing The Dragon).

Thankfully, Cathedral, Peach & Cognac, Asian Plum, The Capo (VR2), Vida After Dark (VR1), Cuban Highball and some more I forget, don't burn my skin, so I keep them in my rotation.

My respect for your great shaves & photos fine gentlemen, as always.
