Someone playing games on eBay ?

Sold an item yesterday on eBay. Buyer wanted it sent special delivery. So ok, waited for payment, payment came through with an eBay confirmation and address. Sent it to that address. Yeah you guessed it "incorrect address". Rang PO and they are returning to me. Buyer though demands refund so I issue one straight away, eBay would of done that anyway so no point in resisting.

I think personally buyer changed his address after buying ? All he can say is "you should always send to PayPal address". Not arguing the point but why then can you print labels from eBay ? Why have two different address for one point of sale as a personal buyer ?

People naff you off, that's over £8 down for delivery I paid !

Ebay and Paypal rarely give a seller any support at all and just insist on a refund to the buyer regardless of who is at fault. I learnt my lesson years ago, I sent an expensive golf belt to a buyer, it was confirmed as delivered from the courier with a signature, the buyer said it wasn't his and he never received it even with proof of delivery which was just a squiggle as usual. Paypal made me refund so I was over £50 down. Dishonesty is rife on Ebay.

I am getting the feeling he's changed his address after purchase, then going about blaming me. He's bound to leave negative feedback despite me sending an immediate refund. So I'll complain about him to eBay anyway, worth trying.

What adds to this is the address for delivery has been refused by the Royal Mail as incorrect ? After I refunded he wanted me to see if I could arrange for him to pick it up at delivery centre it was being held at. Of course that failed as they would need something with his name and the delivery address on. Stinks of a scam ?

Sounds like it to me. Complaining about him will do nothing though. Sellers are expected to be treated like fodder on the Bay. Good luck though and at least you have the item to resell instead of him having the item and also getting a refund.

Since I mentioned a few anomalies he's all of a sudden gone quiet.

Well he's just replied with a reply which was in a much nicer tone saying,

"Look. It's fine....these things happen.... good luck with the sale...
Many thanks for your kind response"

He was getting fairly strong with me I mention taking it to eBay and he backs down. Think I'll still mention it to eBay, I'll wait and see if he puts on negative.

Got to be a failed scam ?

+1 on Wayne's comment, I sold an iPhone to buyer in Russia. 10 days after shipment buyer filed "did not receive item" complaint directly with PayPal. Buyer had 6 fake "positives" on eBay (all under $1 and within a few seconds of each other). I had proof of shipment. Buyer "removed" from eBay. Buyer won. Whomever wrote the PayPal automated software program where the buyer always wins should be .........

I got burned twice on eBay by buyers who never paid for their winning bid. eBay wanted me to wait one week for payment before offering to the next bidder who at that stage was no longer interested. In another case, the bidder put in a claim with Paypal saying the razor was defective. He never opened the package and it was returned to me as refused delivery. It turned out he won the same model for $10 less in another auction.

Just spoke to eBay. This will surprise you !

I did the right thing by sending to the address on the eBay payment confirmation ! Nothing mentioned on sending to a PayPal address, which I've also seen in a EBay T&C page.

I've done nothing wrong, in fact I shouldn't of refunded as on the evidence I sent to the right address and it's his fault !!!

It's done now !

Oh and if he leaves negative under the circumstances of what has happened they will remove it. He's also message me with a link for a screenshot to see his address and it leads to a foreign language eBay log in screen.

It's irritating though as if Ebay find in your favour the buyer can then attempt a refund via Paypal. And Paypal's terms and conditions will insist on the goods being sent to....you guessed it..the Paypal address!

Damned if you do, damned if you don't:cursing:

Well he's got his refund via eBay and linking to PayPal. He's banned from my eBay listings now.

He's obviously a bit thick too as he just doesn't get the fact that the address at the time of purchase is the address it was sent too. I've done nothing wrong. The fact his address is different now says it all.
