Simpson Brushes Appreciation Thread

Hey everyone, sorry for being lazy, but I don't have the energy to go through the previous 60 pages. So please go easy on me.

Can anyone tell me if there's a significant difference between Super Badger (silvertip) and best badger?

I want to buy a Simpson brush that doesn't break the bank but still gives me a good quality badger feel (excluding pure badgers, of course). Just to give you some background, I've been using T&H silvertip and I'm satisfied with it. I'm interested in trying something from Simpson. Thanks 🫡

If you are looking for the best value for your money, I'd recommend getting a brush in best badger. My experience with super badger is limited to the Emperor 3 and it was sort of a let down because I couldn't really feel it on my face that much. But from what I have read, supposedly some best badger brushes overlap with super but overall the best grade runs the entire spectrum of pure on one end and super on the other and relies on luck of the draw. I have 18 brushes in best and have yet to have any issues with any of them.

We're all different, so noone can say what you will enjoy. Further, hair grading and nomenclature of the purveyors varies all over the map.
Honestly, Simpsons "Best" hair is quite nice, so that would get my vote...

Also, your level of facial sensitivity would factor into it whereas the super grade would be more ideal for more sensitive skin. My skin isn't that sensitive, which is probably why I've enjoyed all of my best grade Simpsons?

Thank you! I wouldn’t say that I have a sensitive skin, I’m ok with boar brushes, but just not a fan of them.

I've heard the legend or not, that the more popular brush models, like Duke and Chubby, tend to have a denser and better quality pile compared to the lesser-known ones in one grade 🤷🏻‍♂️
