Simpson Brushes Appreciation Thread

Hi I have one ordered mixed results on the forum about it I will just have to judge for myself
IIC the beta testers all loved the Cubby 2 synthetic knot brush which had a loft of 54mm. When the production models started to be sold the whinging started to happen. A lot of users did not like the 51mm loft on the production brushes. Some were even as low as 49mm. I guess that is why there are still mixed opinions on the brush as I see the loft is still listed as 51mm.

I do not have any of the newer synthetic brushes so really can't help much I'm afraid. I hope that Simpsons is to your liking.

I think it is still one of the best shaving brushes you can buy. I’ve had mine for around five years and keep it now solely for travel as I hand-carve my own brushes. If it wasn’t for that, I’d have a few more Simpsons brushes for sure.

Whilst we're on the subject of appreciating Simpsons here is a pic of my Commodore X3 in Best badger. Recently reknotted by the mothership like for like, so essentially brand new now. At the moment this is the only badger I use, I have a few (!) good boars and 3 synthetics, one of which is my travel brush.

You are welcome. I had one of the early Chubby 2 synthetics and found, same as you have, that it did not splay well. As I face lather it was not my favourite brush although it could be made to work for me.
