Simpson Brushes Appreciation Thread

I recently got a Chubby 2 Synth and I like it enough, but at the 4th shave the adhesive has come off and the loft is only 45mm. A little short. What loft has your chubby?

@Lee93 , according to Simpsons website your Chubby 2 Synthetic should have a 50 mm loft height, as you surely know. While measuring must not be exact and loft height can also vary a bit on a model, 45 mm sounds much too low.

If you have purchased your faulty Chubby directly from Simpson, they will take care of it. Otherwise you will need to contact the seller.

As you have asked your question after my postings, the height of my Chubby 2 lofts is:
- 50 mm Best Badger
- 50 mm Silvertip
- 52 mm Manchurian

IIRC mine had a loft of 48 mm which is on the low side but likely within a plus/minus manufacturing target. A loft of 45 mm really does sound far too low to me.

I want to share with you my new, very special Chubby.

I always wished for a Chubby 1 in Butterscotch to have a nice Butterscotch trio with a Chubby of each size. Problem was, I have never ever spotted a contemporary one. So I phoned with Simpson: Problem solved.

My dearest thanks go out to Anna & Mark from Simpson for making my dream come true!

And while I was at it, I asked for a Chubby 2 Best Badger on top and yet another wish was fulfilled. Now it's a quartet:

The Best Badger hair of this Chubby is almost unbelievably soft, so much so that if it wasn't for it's color, I would have bet that they inserted a Super Badger knot by mistake. Wonderful!

@drydown Although the Chubby is not my preferred range of Simpson brushes, your butterscotch Chubbies are very handsome. My favourite Simpson brush is the QE II Jubilee Manchurian, followed by the Colonel Best and the Tulip 2 Super.

I'm cancelling my membership

So much of the same boring boring boring. Simpson doesn't even make brushes available that you can regularly/actually purchase, even if you wanted to.

Simpson does not produce respond OR behave like a business. It's like they want and wish to go out of business, just look at their facebook pages, one update a month NO new brushes, it's already JUNE and they've had NOTHING but basic to sell for all of 2021.

How do I close my account forever?

I can more than happily remove your account if that's what you want.

Need to locate my small Simpsons collection after I moved over a year ago but I should have the following:

Commodore X3 with a tad scrubbier best badger than my venerable old Colonel had.

Chubby 2 Synth, what a brush!

Berkeley in best from the Made in England sticker era and beautifully soft. A real favourite!

A vintage, butterscotch Special I had re-knotted in best. A mort on the scrubby side but I love the wee beastie.

EDIT: the Berkeley and the X3 are in the bathroom - I blame having had a beard for almost two years…right where are the rest then?
