Looked into the new abarth 124 spider before looked fairly fun too, since it is really a tricked up mx-5
They’re lovely looking and they’ve a far stronger gearbox - the newest Mx-5’s is a poor design apparently whereas the Fiat uses the tried and tested mk3 mx-5’s (like mine). I far prefer the look of the fiat, something I never thought I’d say! :P

In 2005 when SWMBO and I were looking for a "fun" car our first choice was an MX5. When we drove it on the expressways for a while, however, we found that it took a real buffeting from the cross-winds and tractor trailers, which we found unsettling. Instead we bought a BMW Z4 which felt much more stable at speed and on the expressway. We still have the Z4 a picture of which I posted in this thread. Nevertheless, I still like the design of the MX5, especially the latest model which looks quite muscular compared with the older models.

My favorite car was a 1986 BMW 325i. I had close to 350,000 miles on it when I was rear ended in a rainstorm by a tractor -trailer. I bought it brand new.

View attachment 14763 My non-winter car, a 2005 BMW Z4 2.5i with a 5-speed manual transmission; I'd thought of getting the 3 litre version, but I found it over powered. Because I drive the car for just 6 months a year the mileage is very low at 65,000 km. In the background is my 2004 Lexus IS 300; it has a 3 litre inline 6 and a 5-speed manual transmission, which is most unusual in North America. I drive this car year round but it too has low mileage for its age at 126,000 km. Not pictured is my wife's 2013 Audi Q5 Turbo; it's all-wheel drive and great in the winter.
She'll have to be put to bed for the winter by the end of November and stay there until late April.

Should be here in a month or so.

Whist I am a motor trader, this one is for me to have fun with. I have a fair bit of space, no extra on insurance and addicted to these cars!

Who knows what the future holds but I’m enjoying it [emoji41]
