Shaving nirvana

Just had a sublime shave with a humble ikon 102 with vokshod blade and Prof. Blighty's peppermint tallow and it got me thinking if I'd ever had a more comfortable and irritation free shave. The answer was yes.
My shaving nirvana was cobra classic with a pro guard blade and the rare occasion that i managed a great lather with mystic water.

What is your best ever shave (so far) that has come closest to shaving nirvana ?

I have had quite a few great shaves with many different razors and soaps. I can't say there is just one combination that works well with me.
However, I am most often draw to my Weber DLCs, Iridium Super blades, Mystic Water soap. and my luxurious 2-Band brushes. :)

By the way, I believe you meant Mystic Water. :wink:

I do love those shaving occasions. They seem to arrive when I don't expect it.
Sounds like a kiss arse moment but using my Russian leather sample witha Gem Micromatic and Gem blade combo. Had a few days growth, aka scruff bag and came out as smooth as JLO's butt.

I've had some pretty good shaves with my ATT S1 slant with a Pol-Silver SI blade but I'm currently eight days in using my new Oneblade SE. The developers recommend a ten day adjustment period prior to full evaluation.

For me the issue was getting used to the ultra sharp feather fhs-10. Despite the lightest pressure I would get irritation, oddly enough though not one single nick or weeper. I was beginning to have doubts that as much as I liked the razor it just wasn't suitable for sensitive skin especially using a feather blade.

However, finally today everything fell into place with one awesome BBS shave. So good in fact I can see me taking a day off tomorrow. Also the pivoting head in the Oneblade seems to become more flexable after a few shaves. Don't get me wrong I'll still be reaching for my slant but this Oneblade has exceeded my expectations which given the cost is a huge relief.

So my shaving nirvana to date would be The Onleblade using the feather Fhs-10, Morgan's pre-shave oil, Castle Forbes Lavender shave cream. Cold water rinse and goats milk skin cream.

It's strange, as for me it's not a particular set up. Some days the stars just align and I get a real good shave that feels 'right'. Conversely sometimes I will have a set up that I like and has worked before but it just won't happen.
