Shaving and vision

Curious if anyone here shaves while wearing eyeglasses. If so, do you find it beneficial?

I do shave with them. Or it would be total carnage!

I only remove them when washing off any shaving cream / soap residue.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have you shaved this way since the beginning? I’ve worn glasses since childhood, but have always felt more comfortable shaving without them.

Yep - I've had to wear quite strong glasses since ~high school, can see hardly anything well without them.

Bifocals here, and farsighted, have to wear glasses, and it's a pain in the ass.

I have considerable astigmatism plus typical age-related presbyopia but I shave without glasses anyway. I will until I can't.

I shave after I shower in the AM so I just leave my glasses in the bedroom and don't bother with them until I'm dressed for the day. I'm a slob and splash water everywhere when I shave.

The main embarrassing thing I experienced related to shaving without glasses was I once tried a new soap and could not get it to lather. It was terrible! Which, it turns out, would be the inevitable consequence of failing to notice, without my glasses, the tightly shrunk plastic wrapper around the puck.

It must be. I find it annoying if the mirror steams up, not being able to focus must be worse even though I rely more on touch than sight.

No glasses here. If there is something I want to see better I just lean into the mirror more.

My biggest challenge is changing blades, especially unwrapping them. Glasses help a little in this endeavor, but not much. It's a new adventure each time.

No idea how I have managed it but my eyesight remains good but I share your fears when changing blades. I watch YouTube and some people handle blades with no regard to their safety, it is just the way that an edge can cut deeply without any pain.

In all the years I’ve palm stropped my blades I’ve had just one minor incident. Fortunately it was not serious. But yes, I do indeed wear my glasses when handling the blade. I just don’t feel comfortable shaving while wearing them.
