Officina wasn't good either yes. Lather based.Don’t know. It started very creamy, more than the vegan TGS soaps and turned into cappuccino foam time passing. The shave capabilities have been top, super glide and cushion, it just looked not the way it performed.
I usually have issues with those italian creamy shave soap, like TGS, RazoRock, Officina Artigianale Milan, Tcheon Fung Sing and so on

Both have a rather subtle scent. While the sea buckthorn smells as delicious as a Ricola sea buckthorn candy (which is by no means a negative—quite the opposite, in fact), the aloe has a more floral scent. I like both.

Btw... Do you grate these soaps to fit your containers? I have to admit I mostly lather up in the hand but I'm sorely tempted to grate some of the harder ones. I assume there's no performance drop off?

I used to grate and then press firmly back into the container with a coffee tamper.
The idea was to avoid water getting under the soap while blooming.
No performance drop off, actually it worked slightly better.
Nowadays I’m taking those pucks out of the container and rub the hard puck into my face, like a shave stick, instead of loading the brush in the tub.
Gives me better and consistent results even with different brushes and bristles.
Certainly food for thought.
