Semogue, or Zenith BEST BOAR?

I had the Semogue SOC boar in three different handles—butterscotch, white, and cherry wood. I also had the Zenith 507 unbleached boar and the Zenith boar with an aluminum handle.

For my personal preferences, I’d highlight the SOC with the white handle and the Zenith 507 unbleached boar. I just like the white handle paired with the white boar knot, and the Zenith 507 unbleached feels different in a good way. I can recommend both.

I prefer my Zenith simply because it’s bigger than my SOC, but both are excellent.

Mister, you’ve been dilly-dallying over this for an eternity. This is what you should do. Buy a bleached Semogue and an unbleached Zenith. Just do it. Be done with it. Break them in and enjoy your shaves :okay:
If you’re interested in lightly used Semogue and Zenith brushes I have a few sitting around. I could be swayed to part with them

Stout meaning heavy or?

DEo you dumb, or throw away because weight.
Heavy or……….. what????
Stout meaning heavy and the knot was very dense. I have so many brushes and frankly, just didn’t want to break it in so I PIFfed it to a friend. He loves it. The knot has opened up and the tips are splitting.

As to your second sentence; “DEo…” Huh? Really? Dumb? Listen, I have replied to and answered your questions in your many threads about gear and vendors with nary a response, and have even in the recent past, more than once, offered you the opportunity to experience some of my brushes, gratis. Also with no reply.

I’m guessing that’s just your attempt at humor. Enjoy your shaves.

Well Stout was clairified, and I got my reply, think dense is what I seek.

Boar Omega I have is Thin Haired and Floppy. Stiff & Dense is better.

I think what @chazt means by „stout“ is the kind of brush you would imagine using to paint a garden fence.

When choosing a brush, there is 1. floppy, 2. too stiff and 3. just right. Number 1 is still useable, number 2 only fit for a PIF or the bin and finding number 3 is harder than you would think.

Take this one:
