Is this your first use of that soap, Paul? I used it 3 times over several weeks, a few years ago, and had a lousy shave each time.
Yes. I watched some reviews that were very positive so I thought I’d try some from Shavedash while it was still available. It didn’t feel great from the first stroke. The soap felt slick but the blade felt tuggy all through the shave.

Omega 11137 boar
Lea Classicsoap
Mongoose B3
Schick Proline [ 8 ]
Lea Classic A/S Lotion

Was thinking how nice and soft the tips of this Omega boar were as I was lathering up today. Perhaps not as pretty as some of the Brushes featuring in preceding SOTD, but works well for me.

Used a Mongoose today, and found that Shave time was significantly shorter than with the smaller headed Schick type F. However, there was not a tremendous difference in the finished Shave quality of the pair. The main difference is the fact that while the Type F is extremely forgiving, the more aggressive Mongoose requires care/concentration throughout the Shave, otherwise it may well bite.
