RazoRock Hawk + KAI Titan Mild (1) / Big Bruce / B&M Le Grand Chypre Soap & ASL / Bart’s Bergamot & Vanilla

Only used the B&M a couple of times so still figuring out how to get the best lather from it, the Hawk also feels a little odd after a month of using a Vector but delivered great results.

On the road for work for the next couple of weeks so shall have this setup for that trip :)

This morning was too dark to take the picture at the window (Now... Window 2020!).

There have been complaints among the evicted brushes to make room for the Stars this morning.
But the brushes have a good temper and nothing serious has happened...

It's been a good shave ...

The battle contines !!

Tried the Astra SP blade and after the 1st WTG pass quickly changed back to a Gillette Platinum as the former was so rough and I got 2 nicks which I very rarely get.

Finished the shave with the Gillette and TBH it may have been slightly smoother than previous shaves with the Blackbird but the Astra had already caused a bit of irritation.

Can't fault the end result as it is BBS all over but just wasn't the pleasant shave I'm used to with the Karve (it is a closer result than the Karve IMO) Will contine for another week or so before deciding if it is just too aggresive for me - or hopefully if I can get it to work :)

Soap again from Ariana & Evans performed great - fantastic cushion and glide and even after this "rougher" shave the post feeling was soft and felt great. I want to continue using this during the razor trial as I then know everything else can be as good as possible :)

Well, I have to admit, the Occam’s DE is one heck of a shaving tool. I have the full set with both caps and the three plates. The least aggressive plate is apparently a clone of the Muehle R89. I selected the most aggressive plate which appears very similar to the plate on my Eclipse Red Ring. Directions on Classic Shaving’s site recommend the use of a Feather blade in this safety razor. So that’s what I used. I fell back on my favorite soap, MWF and PAA’s Preshave Cube coupled with my Viking Silvertip Badger to provide a known ideal lathering platform for my first pass with this new razor. The razor is beautifully balanced in the hand and an incredibly smooth shaver that reminded me of my AS-D2, albeit with a much more generous sweet spot. I understand why people like this razor. Two clean effortless, bloodless passes on the face and one and a half on the dome and that’s all she wrote! The razor was allegedly designed for new DE shavers. A 316L SS safety razor based on a MIM process with these kind of tolerances, three plates and two caps was an amazing buy for under 65 dollars during their pre-Christmas pricing. This is one excellent shaving tool. I’m really going to be enjoying my shaves with this razor over the next few days. I feel clean, refreshed, and oh so very smooooth!

RAZOR: Classic Shaving’s Occam’s DE
BLADE: Feather
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Preshave Cube
BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Royall Lyme AS Splash

A nice comfortable shave with the Hiram as the 3 dot plate really gave it an extra boost in feel and feedback.
