Saponificio Varesino - La Familia

I did hear a rumour about its arrival. I’m not a mad fan of the tins though. The paint is chipping off the Fern Aromatic tin.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who's had this problem with the paint chipping off of the new tins.
It's a shame as it slightly cheapens the experience and ruins the 'collectibilityness' (that's not a word is it) of them.

I've also had this, I emailed SV so they are aware of the issue. If enough people do it, hopefully they will rectify the problem for future releases.

Great soap, poor packaging.

I've made them aware of this thread to show it's not only me that's having the issue.

Having to pick off small pieces of paint off the top of the soap before use is not acceptable, especially considering the price of these tins is not cheap.
Have you had a reply from them yet? I have written to them in the pass and had no response.

Have you (OR ANYONE ELSE) bought the LE Manna di Sicilia yet?

I only ask as the finish on the tin looks different to the Fern Aromatica.

I received a reply in about 10 minutes asking for pics, I sent them the pics, and haven't heard back.

I'll let you know if they respond to my message with the pics.

I'm not happy with the packaging, so will avoid buying more of their products until I know it's sorted.

Good to hear they got back to you so quickly. I've held off buying it too due to the packaging as well.

I'll drop them an email too. I prefer the boxes TBH.
I like the look of the boxes too but the tin's useful in that it can be used to load from..obviously. Just a shame they have the paint problem. While I'm in moaning mood I'll add that they are also quite lightweight so can relatively easily misshape. I haven't got the 70th anniversary soap but it looks like that tin is more solid...could be wrong though.

Wonderful soap though SV

I don't think the tins are big enough to load from. They are actually thicker than the 70th Anniversary tins.

They would be better off going the route of Martin de Candre with high quality plastic jars.

They still look classy, and are practical.

The tins are flimsy and the paint peel issue is annoying. I hope they sort it out.

There are so many good soaps out there - that for the price, SV shouldn't be lax with their packaging.

It's not great having to pick out small dots of paint from the top of the soap before use.
