1/16th or 1.5mm either will do, you can buy brass or nickel rods and drill bits in both those sizes. Model makers usually carry this in store, and you can buy the washers from here. https://www.microfasteners.com/home.php?cat=658
I was completely sure I knew that it was 116th but then I saw a video read a post in a forum something where the guy drilled his holes to 564 because of some kind of pressure something or another LOL so I started checking is 116th the right size hole some people would say yes others would say doesn't matter people would say different things so I'm guessing it doesn't really matter I was just curious as to what size most people used because 116th is what the guy told me that's been doing it for years so I didn't think he was stupid but I started thinking maybe he's been doing it wrong all these years lol

I've actually been talking to Kathy at micro fasteners trying to get her to carry rosette's dome washers and cup washers LOL nobody makes him or carries him and maybe she can find somebody to get it done I got a list of everything a restorer would use and send it to her maybe she will start selling rods also. that is just a house with old ladies doing that, bagging up the washers and what not, or so it seems that's what's going on from visiting with her reading what people write and having been buying from her for a long time LOL a long time being 4 months when I bought my first razor I bought a bag of washers. I certainly hope she finds a way to do it I told her the people that do sell them are so expensive nobody uses them so they're just going to die out if nobody ever restores a razor with them eventually nobody will know what they are

Forum GOD!
I would say it depends on the size of the rod itself. I just drilled holes on a pair of scales I am preparing, the rod asked for a 1,6 mm hile (whatever that is in imperial), I was impatient and decided the 1,7 drill I found would do just fine. Well, I'd say it is a bit loose, which sucks because it was the pivot hole. Regardless, if I see it is too loose, I'll just fill the hole and do it again, no biggie.

I see. one guy said well it's a 1/16 rod so it takes a 116th hole LOL I thought sounds right. then another guy said to avoid a percussion bulge or something like that you want to drill a 564 for a 1/16 inch hole LOL so I thought, sound right so I still don't know do you use a 116 inch hole for a 1/16 inch rod or do you use a 564 inch hole LOL I'm going with it doesn't really matter I can't see if you make it the right length and peanut right you shouldn't have any percussion nothing or no Benz

There are a few sellers on eBay much cheaper.
something like this might work LOL but I'm still going to work with Kathy at micro fasteners to try to get her to get what she needs to make and sell them at a reasonable price because I spent some time to show her that this hobby needs places to go to get supplies. I told her everybody that I know recommends her for washers. and what I'm asking for our washers LOL basically so I told her she can corner the market she was asking who did supply them and their prices she's looking into it

I recommended that Mr.Pen hand drill (pen vice), mainly because I have a few diamond bits that are narrow at the tip and broaden up a bit at the base. If the holes are a bit tight, I'll use the pen drill to open up the holes a little. If you ever wind up working with acrylester scales, it's a good idea to open up the holes a little bit, to make sure you don't accidentally crack the acrylester while you're pinning the blade to the scales.

A good friend of mine uses 5/32", I use 1/16" sometimes and 5/32" at other times.

Jamie set you up with a good seller. His name is Austin Kennedy and he lives in Virginia. I actually just ordered some of his stainless steel dome washers yesterday. Funny coincidence!

Buy the mock-up bolts from Sorin in Romania if you don't mind the slower delivery, his razor hardware is excellent. Use the link I provided. Cathey is very nice, but microfastener's nuts and bolts are very small, and very tough for older and disabled hands to use. You never know though, maybe shes has something like what Sorin has made. If so, I'd like to take a look myself.

I appreciate all the info. I just jumped into it and I'm trying to figure everything out. that was the first glitch I ran into, being able to get these things and I just couldn't accept that there's got to be a different alternative? it was never about the people being nice or anything mainly the price and how hard it was to find them for me anyway. and yes those are some small washers LOL I have to use tweezers or I lick my finger and pick it up and it sticks to it but time is making it easier for me my disability has just caused me to change regularly and figure out new ways.

Hello,

The pen vice will be a good addition to your razor tools. I use a little moisture to pick up collars and washer too, hehe! If you have the ability to order online, Amazon and ebay are both great resources. Etsy is also a good one, but for specific needs. If you need pinning rod, brass or nickel silver, Texas Knife Supply has a shop on Etsy where their shipping is much cheaper then on their website. Why pay so much for rod when you can get it from TKS for less then $2.00 per foot? I know you didn't ask about rod, but there are a lot of people who sell it for a pretty huge markup.

Harbor Freight is another great place to shop for tools. Keep them in your mind for future reference.

By the way, are you working on a razor right now?

no no, don't worry about giving more information lol I actually have tried to use Texas knife supply and their website has been down I have rods and regular washers which led me to look for the incredibly hard to find ones LOL I can't believe that on the entire planet you cannot find them any easier than this.

coca-cola, McDonald's, Ford motor company we're all ideas until they weren't. I've just tried to put the thought into a few people's minds that they should get into this it wouldn't take much for somebody that's already in to making similar items to retool an old machine they have in a storage room and start producing them and then if it takes off they can update as necessary. there's a demand there just isn't a supply so I am making my demand a little more well-known to people that maybe can fix it
