They are thick as fleas and make a hell of a mess in parks as they crap like elephants. Added to that, they are very territorial and will put the run on pets and people. They look great flying so long as they land somewhere else.

Living on the shores of Lake Ontario we’re overrun by the buggers. They hold up traffic, chase pedestrians and crap everywhere. They’re protected so there’s little we can do.
Sound like overgrown seagulls!

Sort of except seagulls can't break your bones like a goose can.

That can't be right surely? I thought swans/geese breaking arms was an old wives tale Bob? Birds have hollow bones don't they so whilst very aggressive are actually very weak and delicate, I speak from horrible experience where I once witnessed a dog kill an adult swan just by jumping on it which broke it's neck :(

A farmer I know once shot a Canada goose and lugged the gert heavy thing over three fields so that his wife could cook it. After a good roast in the oven it was still too tough to carve, but they managed to hack some off and put it in the pressure cooker. They were then able to get bits off it but it was still as tough as old boots so it got thrown into the yard for the dogs. They dragged it around for a day or so but it was still largely intact so he saw his arse and threw it into the midden. Six months later it went through the muck spreader and that finally put paid to it.

He didn't shoot another.
