So I got paid. The band was paid $500 which was split equally among 6 of us. And we ended up getting about $100 in tips. So my total take for the gig was $100. Looking forward to the next paid gig I can find for myself either with the bands I'm working with now or with someone who needs a fill in.Did you get many tips?

Those top hats have evolved over the years and are still around but seldom seen. There is a tradition in Thunder Bay where the captain of the first ship to make port opening the new shipping receives a top hat in a ceremony. This is also done when the first Saltie, ocean going ship, arrives in port.I met this interesting young gentleman today Callum Gwilym on my daily walk along the Taff Trail with the dogs, he was suitably dressed as a Regency gentleman of the period as one does when walking around Merthyr Tydfil, we did engage in conversation, and I soon found out what a gifted artist the young man was after he showed me some of his work, Callum, it was very nice to have met you.
Wouldn't it be nice if towns and cities in the UK once every month encouraged people to dress in period style, how much more interesting life would be.
