I feel everyone should have some first aid training, especially new parents.
100% on this one. My daughter choked on a piece of potato when she was new to solid food, luckily I'd had first aid training with the RNLI so knew what to do. There was never a more beautiful sound than her affronted yelling after I got it out!

The thought of what would have happened without that training terrifies me to this day.

Im a work place First Aider and in my Scouting role I must of trained well over 100 Cubs and Scouts. Two of my Cubs received commendations using the training I gave them. My own son I trained and he saved himself from a possible skin graft when he got burnt and took the right and quick action.

Are you still RNLI, living in North Devon on the coast and all that goes with that, thank you !

Well done!

Not now, I was lifeboat crew on an Atlantic 85 for nearly eight years but stepped down to concentrate more on my family. I miss it but a lot of the people I worked with are no longer there and I’m not close enough to the station now I’ve moved.

Good man and thank you. My mum lives near the Appledore RNLI station and it’s amazing how many shouts they get. Brave men doing an essential service. We sometimes to see and hear get the search Helicopter going up and down the estuary at the bottom of our hill.

As someone who used to work on research and fishing vessels, thank you for your RNLI work. There's no one who works out there that doesn't REALLY appreciate all your efforts.

Thank you.

Due working in paper industry I prefer a single blade knife which is easy to clean as paper fibre gets everywhere!

I will look into Spyderco on HH

I worked in a pulp mill and we got retractable blade utility knives, not the snap off blade type, issued for cutting tails and the like. Inexpensive and if the blade gets dull simply replace it. Not fancy but it works well.
