I like the simplicity of the original TL-29 design.
The original blade was broken : a pocket knife was often the only available tool around, when anything needed to be done. I remember often seeing him using his pocket knives as screwdrivers or crowbars.
I had the blade replaced at my local cobbler/sharpener/DE razors dealer :
