Looking good! Are you leaving it there or doing another layer?
Might try another layer tomorrow. Must say it takes very easily. This was only applying and leaving for half an hour.Looking good! Are you leaving it there or doing another layer?
I saw a video on YouTube where a guy did three layers of random dots and streaks, the end result looked like Damascus.Might try another layer tomorrow. Must say it takes very easily. This was only applying and leaving for half an hour.
I will try streaks tomorrow then. Apparently it’s also possible to polish it out so if it’s too much you can reset things.I saw a video on YouTube where a guy did three layers of random dots and streaks, the end result looked like Damascus.
This is also my view, I value the skill and craft of the maker of a good penknife but I am not entirely sure that I would have any use for even a basic knife, the nearest I would have is opening boxes from Amazon!I've got a handful, I'm not really much of a collector but I have an Opinel #8, a Spyderco UKPK in BD1N steel, a brass handle Higonokami in Damascus and a Kershaw Pub on my keyring. Although the UKPK is UK legal I don't carry it as I worry about cops not actually knowing the details of law and taking it or giving me a hard time. Although as a middle aged guy I'm probably not top of their suss list, but still. I'm trying to avoid buying more, as I really don't "need" more than I have. The Spyderco gets used most days but the Opinel lives in a drawer, so no point throwing more money at them when I could buy another straight razor which I would actually use! I have a vintage (~1850s?) heavy grind incoming.
I'll add pics when I'm at home if I remember!
