PAL Injecto matic - Schick Buster ?

The PAL Injecto Matic in the past has been referred to as a Schick Buster, that is the ones confined to use of one blade.

I have shaved with it quite a lot and with a variety of blades, and actually rate it above those Schicks using a single blade.Perhaps that is one of the reasons they seem to attract a premium price in the Market.
Have those who have used both have a view?

The few Schicks I’ve tried were too mild whereas the PAL is spot on. I haven’t tried an E mind, but I have tried the adjustable and even on its highest setting it was too mild. The only thing I don’t like about my PAL is that the handle gets thinner toward the end and I think a handle like yours where it gets chunkier would be more comfortable.

I also have a range of Schicks, and I think the PAL razors suit me much better, as I like a degree of "bite" in any razor. They're nicer-looking, and personally I think that, in general, they're better-made and finished. The one Schick I do like quite a bit is the Hydro-Magic, which is similar in looks to the Injectomatic, and doesn't seem quite as tame as the others.

I did the same as you, but have passed a few on now. I have a mint boxed Black handled version, and a loose mint USA model. The rest I use.

Do you have a preference for the handle, or find it makes no difference to you?

I get good Shave with all the PAL Razors, but like you think the version with the Schick like Handle fits more naturally in the hand.

Wed 25th May
Today I had a Shave with my fairly minty WW2 issue Canadian Schick E2, with a Schick S/S Chick Blade on board for the first time. Despite having two days growth the Shave was not only smooth and comfortable, but the finish was Top Notch.
This Razor IMHO is as good as The PAL, but the likelihood of scoring one is rather remote.

This thread has inspired me to get my PAL out again.
Has it really been 4 years since I last used it? My records don't lie.
Brand new Chick blade. Wonderful shave. Better than the Schick Fashion razor? Maybe, probably not.
I also spotted Dr Terror's leather travel head protector (https://tinyurl.com/dr-terror-protector). It fits the PAL.
The PAL will therefore accompany me on a trip to Norway next month.

I haven’t, it if the Pal were to be more blade exposure, I might slit my throat….lol!

I think the E types are generally more aggressive than the PAL. The key to its use is getting the cutting angle right, also I think perhaps Shaves are rushed which leads to mishap.
